This
kit is an easy bolt-on conversion kit. This is the easiest to
install kit we offer. This kit has been installed on an MR2 and
completed in three weeks working only part-time on the project.
Use
a 2000-2005 Toyota MR2 Spider Convertible donor car. We suggest the MR2
be slightly damaged because the MR2 sheet metal will not be used on the
finished kit and you will save a lot of money by using a damaged donor
car. All unused MR2 body parts can be resold as scrap or resold
on eBay as reusable MR2 body parts. Go to ACCESSORIES PAGE and click on DONOR CAR PROGRAM.
The stock wheelbase of a MR2 is 96.5" and the wheelbase for the real deal is 102.3".
You
can either stretch the MR2 car body by 5" or you may decide to
not stretch the MR2 at all. This kit will fit a MR2 that is the
stock 96.5 wheelbase or with a different trunk lid for the kit; that
is offered by us at only $100.00 extra, you can then stretch the MR2 by
about 5 so that the MR2 will then be about 101.5' for the wheelbase. If you stretch
the MR2 you cut the MR2 body between the wheel well and the door jam to
add the extra metal section and use our extended trunk lid for the kit.
We have two different trunk molds and one is 5'' longer than the other.
You will also add length to the kit on the inter quarter panel sections
if the MR2 is stretched but this is easy to do and you paint and body shop can easily do the job. If you do not stretch
the MR2 then the kit bolts right onto the MR2. Most people do not
stretch the MR2 simply because it is faster and easier not to, but if
you do take the time to stretch the MR2 the final result is a longer
wheelbase that makes a nicer looking exotic styled car. NOTE: Use hood hinges from '91-'96 Dodge Stealth for the Kit-360's hood and trunk hinges. The hinges work great on most kit-cars.

NOTE: THE WIDE TIRES EXTEND PAST THE QUARTER-PANEL ABOUT AN INCH. WE WILL ADD ANOTHER QUARTER PANEL SECTION ON TOP OF THIS KIT-360 AND WORK IT INTO THE KIT-360 SO THAT THE 10" WIDE TIRES WILL BE UNDERNEATH THE QUARTER-PANEL COMPLETELY. IF YOU USED 8.5" TIRES YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO BEEF-OUT OR ADD A FIBERGLASS QUARTER-PANEL TO THE KIT-360. WE THINK IT LOOKS BETTER TO HAVE THE 10" TIRES ON THE REAR AND IT ALSO LOOKS GREAT TO HAVE BEEFED-UP QUARTER PANELS ON THE REAR WHICH NAKE THE KIT-360 LOOK MORE POWERFUL AND AGRESSIVE AND IT ALSO RESEMBLES A SMALL LAMBORGHINI BECAUSE MOST LAMBOS HAVE THE LARGER REAR SECTIONS ON THEIR SUPERCARS.

You can install this kit without doing any metal work or fiberglass work. This is a complete bolt-on kit.
You will use the stock door shell on the DONOR CAR/MR2, but you will attach it with screws to the KIT-360 outer body-kit door panel.
You
will use the MR2 interior with this kit but some people upgrade the MR2
interior by taking it to an upholsetry shop and having the center part
of the seats and the upper insert on the door inside interior panel
colored the same color as the finished car. See photos ABOVE for details.
Wheels:
the largest wheel size that we recommend for the finished kit car is a
19" wheel. Ask for the
five spoke Ferrari styled #202 wheel set. The tire size that you will
need to buy for the wheels photographed on this Kit-360 web page is a size
225/35/19 for the front and 275/30/19 for the rear tires. We pay
$754.00 for a set of 4 tires mounted and balanced on the Kit-360 replica
wheels.

Some people add a carbon fiber dash kit off ebay for about $40.00.
Some
people add a turbo simulator, which is also called an exhaust pipe
whistler to the MR2. This makes the car sound like it has a bigger
motor with a turbo and you can get this at any automotive parts store
or on ebay for about $12.00 and install it inside the rear exhaust
pipe.
MR2 wipers, convertible top, interior and windshield stay the same AND STAY ON THE DONOR CAR/MR2.
You can add a Garrett turbo kit for the MR2 at $2,500.00 and increase from 138hp to 280hp.
Headlight
lens for the front are $125.00 each and for the rear taillight lens you
can use any 1984 and up corvette rear tail light lens from ebay at
about $10.00 each. The round, Corvette, taillights you'll need for the
KIT 360 are the CORVETTE 1984-1990, series C4, L.E.D. taillights.
You can search eBay for "CORVETTE taillight tail light C4" and then bid
on the round, C4, style lights. You can also search the salvage yards
for used, CORVETTE taillights at www.car-part.com
or call one, large,
Corvette-only, salvage yard at 1-888-467-8388. Some people also use the 41 light L.E.D. trailer brake light 4" ready to wire up lights in the rear from eBay which actually make the rear end section of the KIT-360 appear newer looking than the older Corvette tail-lights.
The black metal grill mesh can be bought at any hardware store for just a few dollars or you can search eBay for grill mesh in plastic or metal and some people buy a grill for a large truck like a Dodge Ram pickup and then cut the mesh to fit the KIT-360.
The
motor in the MR2 is so good that the Lotus exotic car company put it in
the 2007 and up Lotus Elise vehicle. When you raise the hood on
the 2007 Lotus Elise you will see a Toyota MR2 engine.
The
average turn-key car is worth $25,000.00 to $30,000.00 and we can teach
you how to own a completed car for around $9,000.00. (donor car
$2,500.00 + kit $3k + wheels and tires $2k + spacers $500.00 + paint
materials $500.00 + misc. $500.00 = $9k)

You can use the MR2 donor cars trunk and hood hinges on the 360 kits hood and trunk lid but we recommend you use the hood hinges from either a '93-'96 Dodge Stealth or Mitsubishi GT3000 because they are stronger and work better and you can get them on eBay for under $20.00 a set..
You can use a Pontiac Fieros gas cap door and gas cap doors wire
cable and the plastic piece inside the gas cap door on the KIT-360.

360 WIDER (IF YOU USE A WIDER REAR WHEELS)
Some people upgrade the rear-view mirrors located on the doors by using a Dodge Viper mirrors or by using a Honda Del Sol's rear-view mirrors.
NOTE: If you decide to put the replica wheels on your KIT-360 that are 8 ½” wide in the front and 10” to 11" wide in the rear you need to search youtube for these three words "carkitinc 360 wider" to pull up the video that explains how to cut and open-up and re-fiberglass the quater panels so that they are wider this process is not hard and can be done in only one day. Then your 10” to 11" wider rear wheels will be completely covered by the quarter panels and they will look correct.
