| This
kit is an easy conversion kit. This kit has been installed on a
club cart ds model golf cart and completed in two weeks by us working
part- time on the project. Note: the ds cart body is the same
from 1989 up to present; however in 2003 the iq model ds version was
introduced and the running time was greatly increased. We recommend
using the 2003 and newer ds body club cart with the iq computer as the
donor vehicle for this mini roadster project.
We suggest the
donor be slightly damaged because the body panels will not be used on
the finished kit and you will save a lot of money by using a damaged
donor cart. All unused body parts can be resold as scrap or on
ebay as reusable body parts. We sell slightly damaged donor carts at
great prices.
The stock wheelbase of the ds cart is 65.5" and the wheelbase for the
finished mini roadster is 120.5". You will extend the frame from
the round bar under the dash area by 60.5" and then add 10" as a bumper
guard that extends from the front frame out in front of the tires with
a plate on each end of each bumper guard. See photos for details.
You will widen the front suspension by 9"See photos for details.
Cut the center floor board and add 10'' in length to the center floor board area of the cart. See photos for details.
Add
side rails in the front on each side of the frame rails that are 42"
long from the round bar that is located under the dash area of the
cart. See photos for details.
The rear area stays the same but you will add the 4" spacers to the hubs.
The
seat is 15" high on the back and 37.5" long and then the seat part you
sit on is 20" wide x 37.5" long. See photos for details.
Extend the steering column to fit the length of the newly extended frame section.
The
battery holder tray is 15.25'' outside to outside and we used 2x2'' steel
tubing. The battery tray has to be 11'' on the inside of the tray for
the batteries to fit. The batteries will sit inside the frame rails.
See photos for details.
The largest wheel size for the finished kit cart that we recommend is a 18'' wheel. You may
order beautiful wheels from the o.e. wheel co. In Sarasota,
Florida by calling 1-866-273-3651 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 1-866-273-3651 end_of_the_skype_highlighting and pay about $558.00 for the wheels
shipped with center caps. Ask them for their web-site address to view
the wheels on-line. Ask for the hyper-silver, multi-spoke Mercedes
styled wheel set and the wheels fit a 2005 slk 350 Mercedes vehicle.
Use
wheel spacers to make the roadster wider and we can help you obtain the
spacers. The spacers are 4'' on the rear and 2'' on the front. We
offer all the spacers for $500.00.
You can make the cart run
faster. The normal speed for the ds model cart is 12-15 mph but the
larger tires make it run about 18 m.p.h. and some people add a larger
motor to make it run around 27 m.p.h..
Some people add an outdoor boat type stereo with cd player and a speaker.
Some people add a working horn, lights, etc.
The
average turn-key cart is worth $9,000.00 to $15,000.00 and we can teach
you how to own a completed cart for around $7,000.00. (donor ds cart
$1500.00 + kit $3k + wheels and tires $1k + spacers $500.00 + paint
materials $500.00 + misc. $500.00 = $7k) you can own one even cheaper
than this example if you use cheaper wheels and do not add any of the
extras.
A $500.00 deposit payable by paypal or check along with a signed purchase order gets your kit started. Your kit will then be completed within 30 days. Call for details.
We
can sell you a real European front car tag with a black plastic holder
for $50.00 or you can get one on ebay. Some people put this on the
front bumper of the completed car.
This mini roadster kit was
inspired by the most beautifully designed German classic car ever
created, which is the 1936 Mercedes-Benz 500k special-roadster.
This was the type vehicle that Adolf Hitler was paraded around in during the 1930's and 1940's.
